Computer Aided Design

Basic Model

From a simple sketch
we create a 3D model that is ready for print.

Once approval is given, JewelCAM gives you a 4 view photorender, a functional STL file and manufacturing data, such as weights and stone details.

Rapid Prototyping

With your custom STL file
you can print your own prototype, or we can print a castable model.

The last step is to cast the model, again JewelCAM can offer you to cast in Gold or Silver.

Designs on a new outlook

Pink tourmaline tube set in white gold with pave set diamonds. Cheeky detail here is that the side view shows that the second arc contains diamonds as well, dissapearing under the setting facing the finger. This form of render is a standard JewelCAM render..

Trophy Tourmaline Ring

Designed as a technical excersise: to establish enameling as a viable solution for decoration on cast items. The CAD modeling of the little bird took less than 5 hours, and together with the power of photo renders it came alive on screen. Organic modeling refers to soft shapes and metal textured areas, not commonly found in CAD jewellery.

Simple Design
Elegance is not always defined by detail and complication. Each design is unique in some small detail, here we enhance tge setting to stand proud, allowing matching side bands to be added by the client at a later stage. Simple design also allows for maximum workshop speed - clean lines produce easier molds, castings, and polishing.

Classic Cluster

Evoking the classical elements of the cluster, and presenting the technical achievements of today - the invisible setting of four cascading hearts brings through a shimmering conclusion. Diamonds might be a girls best firend, therefore CAD aspires to give her that pleasure that some aspire to!

Sapphire Cascade Earrings

A technical excersize in developing a setting to allow maximum protection to the centre stone, and still allowing for play of light. The design brings elements of a Tension set ring to that of a traditional four prong setting. At the same time bringing in row uppon row of glittering pave set diamonds.

Designs are all digital, so each design can be refined until you, or your client, is happy with the design. The greatest advantage of using a CAD based design is that the client is able to sign off a photo render, which is virtually the same as the metal version.

Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA)

JewelCAM considers the files that you supply as completely confidential, and will not discuss propriatary or confidential information.JewelCAM offers, and is very much supportive of generating a Non-Disclosure Agreement, should you have any concerns about our confidentiality of your designs - or the original source that the data came from, just tell us in advance when sending a design file that you wish to sign an NDA, and we'll gladly comply.

We understand that you would like to send us files. To make it easier for you we have three options that allows you stay in your office!

All three options are digital methods for sending us files:

We prefer the online form, as it contains the most information, please respect the red astrix, as without the relevant information the files will not reach us. Alternatively, Dropito allows you to send the files directly to us - please call us or email us for a password.

Please feel free to send us your job request, we have a dedicated PDF that you can print out and send to us. If you have any difficulty in using the form, please call us, and we can talk you through it.
